Our Lowline Bulls
Wanamara has always used champion sires with structural correctness, good muscling & most importantly, good temperament. Our bulls are larger framed Lowline bulls with adult weights of 600 - 700 kg because we are producing bulls for the commercial market. Commercial & dairy farmers need bulls with plenty of height, stretch & weight to serve larger framed cows, without breaking down. Our bulls are bred for this purpose, not just for the show ring.
We have used sires naturally & specially selected AI sires to suit our breeding programs. These include

Southern Cross Casanova STC C219
Southern Cross Casanova was purchased with his dam, Goan Opal Star, from the Southern Cross dispersal sale in 2008. He is a larger framed, well muscled bull with a perfect temperament & is a valuable outcross bull within our herd. His calves are proving to be outstanding already, well muscled & docile.

Southern Cross Calculator was purchased as a calf with his dam, Southern Cross Acute, at the Southern Cross dispersal sale in 2008. He has grown to be a very useful outcross bull for our stud, producing very handy heifers.

Our newest arrival at Wanamara Lowline Stud, Trungley Corundum, has been purchased from Trungley Stud at Bundanoon, NSW & is a son of Trungley Tiger's Eye, who's genetics have not been available in Victoria. Corundum is a young bull with plenty of potential & we expect his calves to have plenty of length, height & structural correctness. Corundum has a beautiful temperament which should be passed on to his calves too.

We are the first stud to use imported semen from the USA & are looking forward to his first AI calves in 2012. Muddy Creek Standing Bear has made a mark for himself in the America & we are sure he will do the same in Australia.
